PHILOSOPHY OF WORSHIP

When we worship we place God at the top where He belongs. We recognize and acknowledge His worthiness. The Bible teaches us that only God is worthy of worship.
Church is the vehicle God uses to draw people closer to Him. This happens by the church encouraging others to be like Jesus through example, education, experience, and community.
We are all, even at our very best, imperfect and in need of salvation. The ultimate call for anyone in this world is to fulfill the Great Commission.
Jesus commands us to "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." (Matthew 28:19-20)
As a worship leader, my role includes anything and everything that will help achieve that purpose. The Lord’s work is my call. If I weren’t working at a church I’d be fulfilling that purpose any way I could. I am content in this work because it is what God created me to do. That is to say that my purpose answers the call to draw the masses closer to Jesus.
People ask me why I have such a devoted work ethic. They often ask why I put so much effort into the ministry. My answer is always the same, “…It’s all about the people, God’s people. If only one person is some how drawn closer to God, then I haven’t done enough.” That is to say that it’s all for that one person but there is so many more that need to hear and so much more work that needs to get done. God will always have a willing, available servant in me to do whatever He asks.
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. (Revelation 3:20)
I am one of those who are blessed to hear God’s purpose for my life. There is no greater call. I live it from day to day.
The most important things to me are my family and the ability to live my life as an example of how to worship God. It’s my honor to serve our Savior in this manner, and to create opportunities to bring others to know Him more.
